So, you’re tired of living the life that others have dictated for you; you wear dumpy clothes so you can ‘fit in;’ you toil endlessly at jobs that bring no satisfaction; you struggle to balance the budget at the end of the month; and you grow old with worry about when that white knight or mademoiselle will show up to rescue you from the doldrums that you have fallen into. Meanwhile, you tuck yourself in every night with vivid images of a new you, ways you can recreate yourself, and endless ideas of how to restart your life and kiss the old self good-bye.
Well, guess what? Me too! But that was a very long time ago, and guess what I did? I totally reconstructed my life! That’s right, I did it many years ago, and have been living life MY WAY, and loving it!

But listen up, this course will not change your life overnight. And no, it will not bring Prince or Princess Charming, but it will kick-start your imagination, restore your confidence in yourself and your abilities, and will get you on track to creating the new you, putting your ideas to productive use, and decluttering your cabinet as you recycle stagnant fabrics, jewellery, and other accoutrement.
I work in the entertainment industry, and have been teaching internationally for 15 years, and just as I do with every one of those students in the classroom, I invite you here to not only stretch your imagination and creativity, but also to become comfortable with exploring the inner you.
Although it is an introductory course about the hat industry, hat construction, and how to design and care for them, in its purpose, this is an exploratory journey. It serves to inspire you to pathways to a new life, a new interest, and even a new revenue stream.
Hats have always been an integral part of my life, as they are the most scintillating and intriguing accessory to anyone's closet. One can create an endless variety of looks for all the various occasions in one’s life. In addition to reducing the daily stress of hair grooming, wearing hats brings warmth in the winter, and protection from the sun in the summer; it picks you up when you're down, and celebrates with you when you're exuberant. Essentially, with a simple hat, one can transform into all the characters one has dreamed of becoming.
The best part? You can fall in love, start your own millinery & hatting business, and before you know it, you’ll be fashioning hats for the royal family!
This course is designed to inspire you to lead the life you imagine; to motivate you to get on that path; and guide you to channel your imagination and resources into a unique and stylish product. This is a foundational course for not only those interested in the millinery (hat-making) industry, but also those in sewing, and fashion designing.
