Welcome to our Masterclass in modern guitar,
This course has been structured in such a way that, the student gets introduced to various new genres, techniques and styles of modern music and gets to form a solid foundation in the said style for their guitar playing. We have covered various styles such as Neo/contemporary soul, modern funk, modern blues modern pop, progressive rock, progressive metal, Djent etc in our lessons, and you will find them in the form of licks, riffs, and workout exercises. Additionally, we have included lessons covering styles from traditional style of guitar playing as well, To make the learning experience very interesting,
The mode of teaching adopted by us is very much different to the conventional style of teaching the guitar. The syllabus consists of the following contents:
1. Workout plans - It's very similar to hitting a gym, instead of building on each muscle group, here you will be working on each guitar technique. A single workout plan will have around multiple exercises, and each of these exercises will be based on different styles of playing, such as alternate picking, hybrid picking, sliding, bending, hammer-on's, pull off's, staccato, strumming etc. So as you progress with each plan, the difficulty or intensity of the exercise increases, so take this slow, practice each plan for at least 5-6 days before you proceed to the next. But if you are a really fast learner, take it at a pace you are comfortable with. For some of the exercises, we have included downloadable backing tracks, which will make playing the exercises very interesting
2. Licks - In this section you will be introduced to the style of writing modern licks and applying them while songwriting. This section will have licks from various styles, and for each style there will be multiple licks for you to learn. Besides that, you will also be taught mini songs based on the licks that you learn. The main intention behind this section is to familiarize the students on how to play different styles, and to improve their improvisation. abilities. All the licks and lick songs will have backing tracks attached for you to play along.
3. Riffs - Aaah, the chest thumping, heart racing, energy bombs of any song from funk to metal . This section is to help the students get a good grip over writing interesting and unique riffs, for which we have included riff lessons from various styles of playing along with backing tracks. Here you will learn the art of writing unique and modern sounding riffs and on how to incorporate them within a song.
So by the end of learning our course, our students will be equipped with sufficient knowledge for writing her/his own songs with a modern flavor, as we have covered almost every aspect one needs to know in the process. Our intention while creating this course was to make something very unique and different from the existing style of learning the art of guitar playing, With having returning students from across the globe, I think it is safe to say that, our methodology is very well effective and efficient and above all, keeps our students intrigued with a desire to learn more of our style.
