Course Intro, learn about the Famous 5 Rule perfected by Andrew and the Big 5 Lighting Rule and how they related to each other.
Lesson 1, lesson on Big 5 No 1, Shadows and the Properties of Shadows:
1. Directions & Angles of Lights
2. Shadow Darkness = Light Intensity
3. Shadow Fall-Off = Distance of light and Modifiers used
4. Shadow Colors
Lesson 2, lesson on Big 5 No 1, Shadows Part 2, teaches us about the power properties of Shadows colors and an important point to master; called the Stop Differences and also Shadow Darkness. Pay close attention to Andrew's highly effective methods on the usage of his Shadow Chart, used to estimate aperture value suitable for your shoot.
Lesson 3, lesson on Big 5 No 2, the Coverage. Learn the key elements of this lesson; which is Area of Illumination and Light Intensity.
Lesson 4, continues on the important Big 5 No 2, Coverage. In this lesson, we shall focus on the important topics of Intensity and how to measure the intensity of your flashes and induced lights.
Lesson 5 teaches how lighting modifiers can truly affect Coverage in terms of Area of Coverage and also reduce Intensity of lights. You will also be exposed to the concept of patterns of illumination.
Lesson 6, shows step-by-step how do you use these two rules of Big 5 Shadow & Big 5 Coverage in conceptualizing a shoot & how these 2 rules can reveal the secrets of knowing the exact camera settings and flash power values.
Lesson 7, teaches you how to get a solid (white) background in your shoot. This lesson also includes subscribers' assignments allowing subscribers to submit photos shot with such solid background (for discussions and C&C in the gallery).
Lesson 8, learn how to create Background & Subject's stop differences and also learn how a light meter is used in an actual shoot.
Lesson 9, learn how to get accurate Flash Power & Distance for your photoshoot using Andrew's Lighter's Cheat Sheet, a tested and industry harden formula.
Lesson 10, in this lesson, you will learn how to create exposure separation between your subject's exposure and the background exposure, implementing 'stop differences' between the two layers.
Lesson 11, a direct continuation of Lesson 10, will teach you how you can do all the background & subject stop-differences without using a light meter. You will now learn how to combine 'Lighter's Cheat Sheet' with locational background exposure differences.
Lesson 12, Big 5 No 3, Highlight. Learn why highlight is important and how to get good highlights in a photoshoot.
Lesson 13, learn Big 5 No 4, Edge. Learn the properties of 3 and how to control the speed of all the edges in a shoot.
Lesson 14, finally Big 5 No 5, Reflection. Learn how all shoots should be done with all the Big 5 components implemented step-by-step in a shoot. This lesson includes a grand finale behind-the-scene footage, showing you exactly how Andrew shoots with his lighting assistant from start to finish a highly reflective still-life in the studio (conceptualization to the final desired pictures).
Lesson 15, a summary video of how to work with all the lessons learned using the powerful Big 5 Concept.
