The success or failure of a business is determined more by how effectively leaders lead people than by their personal strategic brilliance, knowledge of the markets, or financial finesse. Leaders can sometimes greatly intimidate others and as a result, never receive the feedback they need to become more effective in their roles.
All too often the role of feedback-giver falls on the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) or Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), who has the responsibility to provide tough feedback and the unique viewpoint that comes from observing the leader in action and hearing concerns from the perspectives of multiple employees.
In this course we explore why leaders so rarely receive honest feedback, the single mindset that is essential to giving powerful transformative feedback, the three biggest barriers to giving feedback to executives, and a proven script for giving powerful feedback that initiates change. We also share the three most common objections during a feedback conversation, guidelines for staying in control of the conversation, and tips for effective follow-up.
While this course is helpful for anyone who needs to provide feedback to an intimidating leader, it is designed with the CHRO and HRBP in mind. All examples and case studies are presented from the Human Resources (HR) professional’s point of view.
