Brief Introduction

Learn to read and write G-code programs for 2-axis computer numerical controlled lathes using Fanuc controls.

Description

If you are considering learning how to hand write G-code programs for 2-axis CNC lathes or you just want to be able to read and troubleshoot programs, then this course is designed to teach you basic programming for Fanuc controlled lathes.

This course covers the most commonly used Canned Cycles for basic turning operations such as:

  • Facing
  • OD Rouging and Finishing
  • ID Roughing and Finishing
  • OD Grooving
  • OD Threading

You will also learn how to use cutter compensation and what information the machine control needs to activate this code.

Control your cycle time and surface finish using Constant Surface Speed (CCS) commands and learn how to calculate these values using simple formulas. I have attached downloadable PDF files with these formulas for easy reference.

You will also be able to download G-code and M-code lists to help you read programs faster.
