Now you can learn to play the evergreen Christmas favourite Silent Night on your ukulele. This is a complete beginner’s course and all you will need is a ukulele, access to an electronic tuner and a strong desire to learn. You won’t need to be able to read music to do this course, in fact you don’t have to have picked up a ukulele before!
This course starts right at the beginning and will show you what the different parts of the ukulele are, how to tune the ukulele and then how to use the resources that are available for this course.
After the introduction we will move straight on to playing the tune of Silent Night. By the end of this playalong course, you well be able to play three different versions of this carol.
Firstly we tackle the melody line on its own using fingerstyle. Then we go on to the chords using strumming and lastly a developed version in which we introduce a new way to play the chords. This gives you a great introduction to the different techniques you can use on your ukulele and the different sounds it can make.
There are resources available for download at each stage which will include easy-to-read diagrams, ukulele tablature (TAB), chord charts and mp3 playalongs. There is also sheet music provided for those who want conventional notation but this is not absolutely essential.
