Description

Get ready for New Year’s Eve and learn to play Auld Lang Syne on your ukulele. Aimed at complete beginners you don’t need to be able to read music or even have picked up a ukulele before. All you will need is a ukulele, access to an instrument tuner and the desire to learn.

Starting right at the beginning this course will show you the different parts of the ukulele, how to tune it and how to make use of the resources that go along with this course.

Then we go on to learning the tune of Auld Lang Syne. This song will be treated in three different ways and by the end of the course you will have learned each version.

First, we take the melody line on its own using fingerstyle taking a phrase at a time. Then the chords of the song using strumming - again phrase by phrase. Then finally we learn a developed version which is an enhanced version of the chords. All this gives you a great introduction to some of the different sounds you can make on your ukulele.

The resources available at each stage will include easy-to-read diagrams, ukulele tablature (TAB), chord charts and mp3 playalongs. The sheet music is also provided for those who want conventional notation but this is not essential.
