Welcome to Songwriting for the Curious Guitarist! This is a complete, step-by-step, and fun course to turn you into a confident & creative songwriter on your guitar. We'll start at the very beginning, assuming that you don't know anything about songwriting, and teach you how to arrange a song, choose chord changes for each part, create melodies to go with the chords (for singing or soloing), make your own rhythms, timing, & strum patterns, and add your own creative mark to your songs.
This course has only one section - Songwriting. The lessons in this section are arranged in order - each songwriting lesson builds on the previous lesson.
Any kind of six-string guitar will work well for this course - electric, acoustic, or classical guitar.
Songwriting on the guitar is so much fun because there are unlimited possibilities for guitar chords, song parts, melodies, solos, lyrics, and general creative direction. This is why so many songwriting geniuses write songs on the guitar. You can play & sing an entire song with just you and your guitar!
Every lesson video in this course has a PDF attachment which are the tabs, chords, and text lessons to use as an additional resource while watching these videos. You can download, save, & print these. Be sure to get all the PDFs.
This will be easy & fun for you. I'm so excited for you to start writing your own songs!
I'm glad you're here - let's begin.
