After I left my day job, I didn't just want to start as a freelancer or as a self-employed business. This is because I know that most prospects and corporate organizations may frown at this. Also, prospects will trust you better when they know you're more than a one-man show. When prospects get to know that you have people, process, and technology in place, it makes you appear as someone who’s less likely to take their money and run off!
Since I work in an industry that is highly competitive, in order to land big gigs I have to present myself in a very structured manner and I don't want to land clients who’d try to exploit my vulnerability and price me low. The sad part was that at that point I couldn't afford to employ staffs, or rent an office space - but my overall goal was to create a structure and a professional look. It took me a while and a lot of research before I could hit the ‘Aha!’ moment. It was then I realize the perfect hack to use for my business appear big while still growing it.
Here's is a general idea, it's very unlikely that any customer will drive to your physical location to purchase your product or services -- those can be done on your website. The overall perception of your business is being created through the way you present your brand online. Prospects are more likely to trust you if they are thrilled with your brand’s online experience. To gain trust and credibility you should be conscious of every detail of your branding, marketing and communication effort, starting with your website to every other thing you do online.
Your website should be able to give the first impression, your colours and font choice should be consistent, your brand message should cut across every channel on the web, your marketing and sales process should be well automated, your advert campaign and products over should run round the clock and I could go on and on. Thankfully, this course covers all of these whole areas in entirety and a lot of other important processes.
